An East Nashville Christmas is our holiday-themed compilation album and concert series, created by an eclectic coalition of 75 Nashville-based Artists & Musicians, to directly benefit the homeless. The idea behind the project is to celebrate our love of Christmas Music as performed by our favorite local talent, while raising important funding and awareness for the National Healthcare for the Homeless Council. Based in East Nashville, the NHCHC has been instrumental in positively changing people’s lives on a national stage since the 1980′s and their work with Comic Relief. The creative community of East Nashville has rallied around our own neighborhood charitable organization that has been making a tremendous difference for the homeless population in over 200 cities and all 50 States. We hope you will join all of us this holiday season and help spread a little Christmas cheer with those that could use it the most.
This amazing project brings together our locally loved and world renowned musicians to deliver 18 new and wonderful tracks for 65 minutes of pure holiday bliss. Sam Bush, BR5-49, Chris Scruggs, David Mayfield Parade, Mike Farris, Julie Lee, Rod McGaha, Kenny Vaughan, Ryan Cavanaugh, Jack Pearson, Derek Hoke, Jen Duke, Jeff & Vida, Stephen Mougin, Tyson Rogers, Off The Wagon, Grace Adele, Jesse Lee Jones & Brazilbilly, Buddy Spicher, Grant Farm, Billy & Amanda Contreras, The Danberrys, Todd Grebe & Cold Country…..plus many more. The album was made entirely in East Nashville at PH Balanced Recordings by grammy-winning producer/engineer; Phil Harris with executive producer, Antonia Cove.
The music and production on the album is very much in keeping with a classic Nashville vibe and sentimentality. It’s all there, everything you would expect to find on a great Nashville Christmas record like the great songs and songwriters, smooth as silk vocal harmonies, soaring pedal steel guitars, vintage tones, sleigh bells, half a dozen fiddlers, and a million tasty guitar licks from all the best Nashville Cats. What you won’t find is glitz, botox, shoe-polish, or auto-tune. We left all of that out in hopes of creating something real that will stand the test of time. The 18 new performances and 4 original songs written and recorded for this album accurately portray the tremendous wealth of diversity within the East Nashville community today. There are but a few natives among us, but everyone was thrilled to share their unique gift with their fellow neighbors, and the rest of the world too. Nashville is so fortunate to have this amazing wealth of talented, thoughtful, and caring artists and musicians flocking to be a part of our great city and it’s rich musical heritage.
